Today’s Prayer

Lord, Your power of renewal is unmatched. Your grace is the anchor I cling to in stormy seasons. Your right arm pulls me up out of the pits I so easily fall into. Your heart does not desire that I perish even if my foolish actions put me in danger. Your sovereign protection is my solace. Make my faulty heart new, Lord God, by emptying it of worldly concern and filling it with spiritual effectiveness. Sift through my mind’s contents, ridding me of all displeasing thoughts and purifying me with truth in my inner being. Let vanities and carnal tendencies be demolished by the indwelling presence of Your Spirit, Lord God. Make my desires holy and singularly focused on Your glory, not my own comforts. Forgive my obstinate nature and my rebellious mistakes. Turn me off the path of selfish pursuits and onto the path of life which my Lord and Savior has forged ahead for me. May the old habits in my life waft away like vaporous smoke as the new fire of faith burns bright within my soul. May I live under the blessed canopy of Your Word, Jesus. Only You can call to my heart in a way that will make my heart respond despite its drowsy existence. Only You can set the rhythm which will match each heartbeat to the cadence of heaven. Claim all of me as Your own, Jesus. Teach me to walk in Your ways. Renew a right heart within Your beloved. Under the Word of God set down as a holy foundation in Hebrews 6:18-20 and the authority of Christ under which I am blessed, I bow in humble prayer.

God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope set before us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where our forerunner, Jesus, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek.
