Lord, help me to pray without ceasing. Keep me ever mindful of Your nearness. Reveal to me the abundant joy of salvation as I meet You daily in the secret place. Your presence is more precious to me than the air I breathe. Every breath I take is a gift from You. Set me down in peace that only You can supply, Jesus. It is there, in the sweet and blessed meadow of solitude, that my soul is restored because You are with me. When my heart is overwhelmed with sorrow, You are the lifter of my head. You are my only protection when my soul’s predator gets too close. Holy warfare is not won unless You lead me into battle. Thank You for the preserving compassion with which You have transformed my soul, Lord. Let Your Word flourish and encompass all that my life represents. With all Your wisdom Lord, infiltrate the barrier of my ignorance. With all Your understanding, strengthen me in grace. Make every desire holy. Take every expectation beneath the shadow of Your wings. You are worthy of exaltation, Lord God. Your ways are higher. Your truth is rooted in goodness. Let not the enemy triumph over Your chosen ones. My weeping is fleeting because my Lord’s favor lasts a lifetime. May Your beloved never cease to meet You in the sacred place of prayer. Under the reminding Word set down in Matthew 6:6 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

When you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.
