Lord, the ache of loneliness runs deep, creating rivets in the soul. You are my comfort and salvation. The refuge that I run to for sweet and everlasting solace is found within the eternal embrace of Christ my King. How tenderly Your Holy Word speaks to the heart of the afflicted. Only Your Spirit can whisper truth that magnifies hope. Sadness is lifted by the joy of salvation. The pardon of sin chases the enemy of condemnation away. The ache of loneliness is soothed by Your all-consuming presence. Lord, clear a way through the wilderness of my heart. Pull up the tangling weeds so that the path between heart and mind is a straight way for you. You turn the wasteland of the soul into a garden of delight. The barren desert becomes fruitful at the touch of Your hand. The rough edges of life’s trial are smoothed by Your use of them for glory and for good. Do not cease speaking to Your servant. Grab my heart’s attention when I inadvertently become distracted. Whatever You say is the only thing that truly matters. Shout to me if You have to Lord. Like grass that withers is a heart that cannot hear Your voice. Father, keep me beneath the holy influence of divine breath now and always. Under the beauty of the Word in Matthew 17:5 and the authority of Christ my Savior and King, I bow in humble prayer.
