Lord, You lift up the down-trodden and heavy laden. On wings of faith, the glory of heaven is revealed. Divine grace, like the silver lining of every cloud, shimmers with promise despite the stains of sin. Spark in my heart renewed hope in Your promises, Lord God Almighty. Draw my soul’s perspective upward even when my circumstances drag me downward. Only You can elevate my character through the blessed truth of Your Holy Word. May conformity to the standards of this world no longer be an option for the child of God. When the wicked has a grip on my heart, Jesus, You can break that hold. Temptation glitters amidst silver and gold; but let the godly refuse to be enamored by superficial lust. Rather, set my heart alongside the brethren who seek You and only You, Jesus. When conflict arises, You can prosper the weary. When faith is wounded by the battle, You are the ultimate healer. With every defeat, the victory in Christ becomes all the sweeter. Though I am taunted by the adversary, I will lift You up in praise, Lord. Only You can raise the soul to be fit for an eternal Kingdom which glorifies Your Name. Under the banner of Psalm 16:1-5 and the authority of my Savior, I bow in prayer.

Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in You. My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. Apart from You I have no good thing.” As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight. Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips. Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.
