Today’s Prayer

Lord, I traverse a land with a thousand snares and hidden dangers. How could I possibly navigate the cultural landscape without Your holy guidance? When idle imaginings and vain rumination occupy my thoughts, only You can grab my attention, pulling me back through Your Word to the place where my heart focus should be. Do not permit Your servant to get caught up in the worries of this world. Let Your presence draw me to the altar each day, where my concerns can be safely laid aside as I trust in my Savior and Guide. Worldly concerns have no place in the core of my heart where You reign in Spirit, Lord God. Filter out my many emotions, leaving what is good and pure, noble and true. Make sure that I never stop learning, Lord. Keep growing me and nurturing me to be more like You with every step I take toward eternity. Show me how to live holy in this world while guarding my whole self for Your Kingdom. Remove any subtle influences that might plant weeds which will choke out the fragrant blossom of Christ planted within me. Jesus, You are the gardener who has the power to pull the weeds of my soul so that the garden of my spirit flourishes the way You designed it to. No matter how painful or uncomfortable it may be, Lord, uproot all that does not belong in me. I trust Your hands alone. Under the blessed shade of the Word in Matthew 15:13-14 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

But He answered, “Every plant which My heavenly Father didn’t plant will be uprooted. Leave them alone. They are blind guides of the blind. If the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”
Matthew 15:13-14, WEB
