Thank You, Lord, for being my steadfast shepherd in the wilderness of my life. My tremulous soul craves the still water that only You can bring me to. Amid cultural thorns and political thistles, Your pasture invites me into the serenity of truth. Lord, I have many unfed hungers warring within me but the only food I need is Your presence. Anything the world offers lacks nutrients for spiritual growth. As I abide in You, every want that has fastened itself without Your permission is defanged. Blessed Shepherd, in my weariness I delight in Your rest so perfect and divine. Your Holy Word is the peaceful stream that flows through my soul with cleansing power. Even though my life path is crooked, Your guidance straightens my walk and steadies my steps. The valley shadows that once threatened me can no longer pull me into fear because You are next to me, Jesus. Your light breaks the teeth of darkness so that fright does not take a bite out of faith. How I praise You for being enough and being my all, Lord Jesus! Teach me what it means to be living in fullness, Lord. Let Your Spirit so consume me that any circumstantial bump will only spill out heavenly contents. You are my Shepherd. Under the blessed Word set down in Matthew 15:17-19 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in abiding prayer.
“Don’t you see that whatever enters the mouth goes into the stomach and then out of the body? But the things that come out of a person’s mouth come from the heart, and these defile them. For out of the heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander.”
Matthew 15:17-19, NIV
