Today’s Prayer

I thank You for Your pursuant love, Lord Jesus. I can be like a sheep with a relentless appetite -one that wanders from the fold because the grass always looks greener just beyond my reach. Pull me back when I have gone too far, Lord. Swing Your wanderer up on Your shoulders in compassionate rescue. Let me not follow other sheep who lead my heart astray. Take me back, Father God. Draw me to Yourself with deep, resonating repentance. There is no other leader to follow than You. All others only lead me to the edge of a cliff where deceit casts an illusion of safety. If I fall, Lord, let me fall into Your arms. Only You can preserve my life, Jesus. Your love abounds beyond the barriers I naturally put up against You. The greenest pasture is Your Kingdom. Satisfy my appetite as I feast on Your Word and drink in Your promises. Quiet all other voices until Yours is the only one I hear and the only one I heed. Because of all You have done for me Lord, let me be among those who rejoice in the Good Shepherd who never leaves the one behind. Under the blessed Word of authority in Luke 13:4-5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
