Kindle the sacred fires of faith, Lord Jesus. Holy Spirit, let Your breath blow across the embers of hope that barely glow within my heart. Help me leave the deceived life I once knew and come into the secure boundaries of Kingdom living. Too long have I pursued happiness when You invited me to something better that is encapsulated in holiness. Bring me home from the exile, Lord. I no longer belong in the land of selfishness. Drag my boat off the raging sea of material pursuits. It is the land of Your presence that will give me rest. Forgive me, Lord, for the misplaced goals and erroneous wishes which led me to climb mountains I was never meant to climb. There is nothing worthy to keep me trapped in this wilderness of vanity. You have come to help me escape from the thorny landscape that appeared so promising from a distance. Draw me out of this place with Your mighty pull of loving power. Rid lesser pursuits, base desires, and carnal aspirations from my being. Your offer of salvation is far more beautiful than anything I have set my eyes on before. The higher life is not lived atop mountains of earthly making. It is lived by grasping the open hand of my Savior and allowing Him to pull me out of this pitiful existence. Thank You, Lord, for Your relentless pursuit and holy interest in a wanderer like me. I delight to be holy Yours. Under the blessed truth of Your Word in Matthew 6:33 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
