Lord, the daily bread You offer is the only nutritional substance my hungry soul needs. Put it into my life through Your Word, through prayer, through community, and through service to Your Kingdom. Whatever Your child needs is aptly supplied from the cross. Your divine pardon is the blessed assurance that feathers my pillow at night when I rest my weary head. In the power of Your forgiveness, I no longer have to live shackled by offense. Enable me to let go of that which holds me back from Your intent and purpose. The temptation for self-defense is strong. Help me overcome it by reminding me that my best defender is You, Jesus. In deliverance from evil, I am freed by Your love from grudges and vengeance. May the grain of this Good News sprinkle throughout my days until a harvest is ready. May Your Name be acknowledged as King of kings and Lord of lords. Let every knee bow before the One and only Savior. Let every wagging tongue be stopped until it confesses that Jesus is Lord. You feed the deepest hunger of the soul, Lord God. May the starving ones finally receive what You so freely offer so that they do not perish along the way. Under the magnitude of truth in John 6:11-13 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
Jesus then took the loaves, and when He had given thanks, He distributed them to those who were seated. So also the fish, as much as they wanted. And when they had eaten their fill, He told his disciples, “Gather up the leftover fragments, that nothing may be lost.” So they gathered them up and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves left by those who had eaten.
