Mark out the way of righteousness before me, Lord. Make smooth this treacherous and narrow path You have set me upon. Turn me from the way of the flesh, Lord. Remove me from the broad path littered with worldly landmarks. It is Your divine command that those heeding Your call enter into the narrow gate to follow the path that is set apart from the rest. A path that is hard according to Your own description. A path that can only be traversed by taking steps in faith not sight. Your way, Lord Jesus, is the way of holiness that leads to righteousness. Only in the balance of Your Spirit can I remain on such a path. The unrepentant shall fall away from it. The wicked cannot find it. Only the ransomed of the Lord have permission to tread the holy ground that separates from the world. Once entered, Lord, let us persevere in the strength and wisdom given lest we perish along the way. In Your love and in Your power may I be counted among the few that endure to the end and are saved. Under the blessed truth in Matthew 7:13-14 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Enter in by the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter in by it. How the gate is narrow and the way is restricted that leads to life! There are few who find it.
