Today’s Prayer

Threats, both real and perceived, provoke the fears lingering in the shadows of my heart. My frightened feet make haste to find refuge in You, my Lord and Savior. Safety is Your covering, divine and impenetrable. Within the sweet space of Your breath, my restoration is complete and the negative emotions are rendered impotent. Your Spirit guides and delivers me, Lord. The counsel of Your Word is the map that plots my course in life. Whatever good is in me, whatever gifts are bestowed upon me, come through the divine infusion of Your love, both holy and pure. Only You can turn an enemy into a hero, a rebel into an ally. Whatever is breaking inside my soul can be mended with the gentlest touch of Your finger. Though my troubles may multiply, I will remain faithful by patiently ensuring the refinement instead of endlessly searching for relief. There is no inheritance worth pursuing except the one granted me in Christ. Though the road to that end is narrow and perilous at times, let my soul not wander in search of easier terrain or short-cuts that deceive. Make it my end to not only reach You, Lord Jesus, but to be a more accurate reflection of You than ever before. It is to Your Name and glory that I delight to exist. Let me not be shaken as trouble surrounding me stirs up remnants of my old responses within me. I am new in Christ. In the creative power of His glory, I stand to face the enemy. Under the inspiring encouragement of Revelation 21:5 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.”
