Today’s Prayer

How despicable and insignificant my trials will seem when looked down upon from the Kingdom of heaven. Garments soiled with the dust of this world will be whitened with the purity of the righteousness of Christ. Troubled heart be cheered by the prospect of tomorrow. Endure the night of trial because the Lord comes in the morning. Be still and patient; for the One who leads His own beside quiet waters will come at exactly the right time. He comes to reap His harvest in the field of suffering. He comes to give every person according to the work accomplished and the gifts employed. A head crowned with thorny problems is crowned, nonetheless. Let it be replaced with a glittering crown and still a truest heart’s desire will be to cast it at the Lord’s feet. Wait a little longer, wearied soul. When looking back from eternity, what seemed immense will be revealed as unimportant. What felt heavy will be seen as lacking weight. Go on with boldness even if that going on is through the dark shadows of affliction. Even faith as fragile as a candle’s flame can light the way. Live on expectation. Thrive on hope. The Lord has not forsaken His own. Weeping is for the night. But oh what joy comes in the morning. Under the blessedness of the Word in Psalm 30:4-5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you His faithful people;
    praise His Holy Name.
For His anger lasts only a moment,
    but His favor lasts a lifetime;
weeping may stay for the night,
    but rejoicing comes in the morning.
Psalm 30:4-5, NIV
