Today’s Prayer

Set my sight on the realities of heaven, Lord God Almighty. You are majestic and worthy of all honor and glory. Keep my thoughts centered on eternal promises, not tainted by vanity or predilection for selfish intentions. Resurrect a deadened soul by granting me glimpses of Your holiness and beauty each day as I immerse myself in Your Word. Reveal to me the hidden treasures that will complete the missing parts of ever-expanding faith. Lord, rid me of whatever lurks within me that is contrary to truth and a pursuit of holiness. Cut off the impurity and uncouth desires. Slaughter the pride and ambition that exalts self above my King. Remove the remnants of my life so that I am no longer a part of this world but live as a citizen of Your Kingdom within it. Calm outbursts of anger with the serenity of a peace that comes through Your Spirit. When I am treated maliciously, lead me to respond with unwarranted kindness because that is how You treated me. Enfold Your beloved with a truthful tongue that administers encouragement not ridicule. It is through Your creative hands that I can become what You intended me to be. Renew and remake me moment by moment. Take a wretched heart and tenderize it with compassion. Mold anxiety into patient trust. Shape my soul’s callousness with gentleness and humility. I am clay in Your hands. Clay that needs much work if it is to become a vessel fit for Kingdom placement. Bind me to Yourself, Jesus. I praise Your Holy Name. A tether such as Yours never breaks. Under the mighty influence and grace of the Word in Isaiah 64:8 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

But now, O Lord, You are our Father; we are the clay, and You are our potter; we are all the work of Your hand.
Isaiah 64:8, ESV
