Today’s Prayer

Open a vein of godly sorrow in my soul, my Lord and my King. Let me not be content in the squalor of apathy when true repentance brings me into Your heart’s depth. May the tears falling from my eyes be filled with the sweetness of remorse and the bitterness of regret over my personal rebellion against Your supreme holiness. Only You can unravel my entanglements with those behaviors that separate me from You, Lord. Only You can restore the original design despite the marred replica I have become. Counsel my ignorance with the power of Your wisdom, God. Let me take comfort in the joy of my Savior’s restoration. Truly, in Your presence I have a foretaste of sublime glory. Turn me around in the power of Your Holy Spirit, Lord. Let me stand in the light and cease chasing shadows. God Almighty, I mourn for the wrongs I have done to You. In repentant prayer, I approach the throne for cleansing. You are the One who turns the scarlet stains of sin into the purity of white redemption. May I never cease turning away from worldly affairs and turning toward You, Lord. Jesus, Your blood is my solace and my defense. You have melted my frozen heart by salvation’s power, enlarging my heart and inwardly delighting me with a desire for holiness. Thank You for turning me to You, Lord. Let this be a new beginning. Under the Word of truth in Acts 2:38 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.

Repent and be baptized every one of you in the Name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:38, ESV
