Today’s Prayer

Lord, let me worship You with a clear conscience in the residual glow of a legacy of faith. Your Word has set down the ancient stories of Your family so that the path of faith would be illuminated for those walking behind along the roads paved in history. Let me walk in the steps that have gone before me in Your way, Your truth and Your life. Stoke my remembrance with Scripture when I face clouds of adversity. Anticipatory joy fills the vacancies of my heart when I become aware of eternal promises. Make my faith genuine, Lord, as I come to You with devoted prayers. The breath of Your Spirit fans the flames of faith, hope and love in my life. Let such flames not be doused by the chilling frost of fear and shyness. In You, I can be bold enough to face the enemy. In You, I can overcome self-awareness for the purposes of sharing my love for You. Whatever You have chosen for me, Lord God, let me live it to the fullest. Rain showers of holy desire into my heart so that the storms of life do not ruin my witness. Jesus, You are the illumination of life and immortality. Let me walk in the light with You. Under the blessed influence of holiness in 1 John 1:6-8 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

If we claim to have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, His Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.
1 John 1:6-8, NIV
