Today’s Prayer

Lord, help me live from the wholesome teaching tucked deep within the ethereal folds of Your Word. Teach my heart new habits that will help me exercise self-control. Whisper guidance to my mind that will enable me to live wisely, have sound faith, and be filled with patience and love. Father, I want to live in a way that honors You above myself. Help me develop a taste for what is good. In submission to You, there is illumination for a path of holiness. The integrity of Your truth and eternal love only lives in me by the power of Your Spirit. Have Your way in me, Lord. Develop a sense of righteousness that fuels my motivations. Your salvation came through mercy not in response to anything righteous in me. Thank You for the tremendous gift of such imputed righteousness, Jesus. Let Your Spirit grow within me until all of sin’s defilement has been purged from my soul. Let the foolishness of the world pass by me as I turn my focus completely upon the beautiful horizon of truth glowing out of Your Word. Under the blessed assurance of the Word set down for the benefit of all God’s people in 1 Corinthians 1:18 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

For the Word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.
1 Corinthians 1:18, NASB
