Today’s Prayer

Lord, make holy devotion more apparent in my life. Grant Your beloved a humble confidence that delights to trust You when the winds of trouble rage around me. The peace I have been granted in my Savior is not easily blown away because the tether of faith in Christ is anchored by hope. Yet, even in my hope, I will find my expectations failing infinitely short of all You have promised. I cannot fathom the full measure of Your grace, Lord. Build my house upon the rock that is the Lord. Christ Jesus is the cornerstone of my trust. For me to build the house of my life would only be a vain endeavor. The hands of my divine carpenter are far better equipped to renovate my fragile soul into a mighty edifice that will withstand the storms of existence that inevitably come with relentless precision in a fallen world. Beneath the inaccessible light, I take shelter. God is my refuge. When faith’s sight is finally privileged to open and look upon divine glory, the house will be complete. The place prepared for me will be ready. Love will guide Your servant home. Under the beauty of the Word in Luke 6:48 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

He is like a man building a house, who dug and went deep, and laid a foundation on the rock. When a flood arose, the stream broke against that house, and could not shake it, because it was founded on the rock.
