Let me hearken to the voice of divine love and take refuge in the shadow of Your wings, Lord God Almighty. Truly, the agitations of a worldly existence should not vex me when I have been secured by Your peace. As I rest in Your faithfulness, Jesus, I am enabled to look with defiance upon the bleakness of tomorrow. Let the assurance coming from divine hands bolster my hope in Your promises, Lord. Even when I hear of wars and rumors of wars, I rest secure in Your sovereignty. When in the midst of a myriad of judgment and accusation from the enemy, Lord, Your divine love is rendered most conspicuous by its shine against the darkest backdrop. So let me not provoke Your kindness by responding in fear or doubt. Your promises are true. Your love is truer still. Preserve for me a place of sustaining peace when my brook of joy has run dry, Lord. Your mighty arms are the safest place for Your chosen ones. Let me never venture from Your side by becoming distracted with the ‘what ifs’ of life. Under the blessed assurance of the Word set down in Psalm 139:11-12 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will overwhelm me.
    The light around me will be night,”
even the darkness doesn’t hide from You,
