Today’s Prayer

Task me with new responsibilities of a holy calling, Lord God. Stir up my desire for Kingdom impact even within the realm of the mundane and ordinary. Let the winds of the Spirit blow upon the embers of faith until my soul is ablaze with hope. Clinging to the promise of Your return, I wait with inspired anticipation. Not idly waiting but actively looking for the first hint of glory while not neglecting any divine assignment no matter how futile it might at first appear. Though I long to be finished with the burdens and sorrows of this world, I wait in prayer that casts my anxiety upon You. Though I greatly desire to come into Your Kingdom and fall in worship before Your face, I worship You on this side of the veil by the way I speak and act. There is no need to tremble before the terror of death when You are waiting for me on the other side. Pull the veil back whenever You please, Lord. Throw open the prison doors of worldly existence and invite my soul into the meadow of eternal bliss where I can fall at Your feet as love’s blossom comes to full bloom. I listen with delighted anticipation for the sound of Your approach. I cling to the promised hope of Your return. Under the wonderful assurance of the Word in Revelation 21:5-7 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” He said, “Write, for these words of God are faithful and true.” He said to me, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give freely to him who is thirsty from the spring of the water of life. He who overcomes, I will give him these things. I will be his God, and he will be my son.”
Revelation 21:5-7, WEB
