Thank You Lord for the simple beauty of a sunrise or the dusky hues of an evening sunset. You are the beginning and the end. Like the tantalizing fragrance of a rose, let the devoted aroma of Christ perfume each day. Teach us to mark the moments in the hurried existence of younger years by slowing down with intentional holiness. When age demands a slowness that hints at purposelessness, let me find my purpose in You. As long as there is breath in my body, let me exhale praise. As long as there is a beat to my heart, let its rhythm be worship of the One and only God. Lord, only You can measure the time given me. You alone know the number of my breaths and the completion of my heart’s beating. In surrender to You I live and move and find my breath. All of creation is sealed by Your glory. Give me eyes to see and ears to hear the Spirit move. You will be there when these eyes close on their last sunset. I delight in the Lord who holds my time in His hands. Under the blessed assurance of Acts 17:28 and the authority of my Savior, Christ Jesus, I bow in prayer.
