Lord, let my faith not be as transitory as the sunbeams comprising a rainbow. Rather, let me abide in the totality of Your loving presence. Establish me in the hope that only comes from believing in You. Settle the wars in my heart as I fully embrace the peace You offer, a peace that is so contrary to the world. Make every good thing in me an abiding thing, Lord Jesus. When the winds of adversity blow over my soul, let it not be easily moved because it is attached to You, Lord Jesus. Chisel the substance of my being so that the Word is etched into the marrow of my bone, not mere writing on the sand of the soul. Mark me with Your truth Lord, as You would etch something permanent on rock. Enhance the faith You have granted me so that it becomes a house able to withstand the torrential flames of trial. Remove the hay and rubble of hypocritical tendencies, Father. Only Your Spirit can root and ground me in love. Deepen my holy convictions for Your glory. Align my desires with the earnestness of seeking Your pleasure and not my own. Make love genuine as it flows from You through me. Only then shall the blasts of hell and the storms of life be unable to unsettle my soul. Only then shall the trials ordained by You not suffer me harm but be used to increase my faith and grow my hope. Under the blessed assurance of truth set down in James 1:2-4 and the authority of Christ, my Savior, I bow in humble prayer.

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
