Lord, help my heart to cast out all rivals to Your divine affection. I whole-heartedly seek the comfort of Your presence. Prayerful rendezvous are my hope in the morning. Attaining to the secret place is my delight in the evening. My soul thirsts for the Living Water that only You can bring. My heart hungers for the fulfilling love that is evidenced by Your Word. May I continually tremble and be amazed by what You have done for me. No other love is as true and tender as Yours, Jesus. No other affection has the power to transform. I boldly seek Your face, letting nothing hold me back. No longer do I search vainly for the completion only my relationship with You can offer. I cleave to the beauty represented at the cross. Keep me faithful even if all others forsake the truth of Your saving love. Tears may drop from my eyes but it is Your hand that wipes them away. Within Your affection death no more has a sting and weeping is replaced by rejoicing. There is no rival comparable to You, Lord Jesus. Let my heart not be led astray by settling for anything less than all of You. Under the blessing of John 15:9 and the authority of Christ, my Savior, I pray.
