With fresh anointing, I wish to serve You better, Lord. With purposed steps, I long to follow where You lead me even if the territory is new and lacks familiarity. You alone can strum the chords of my heart to the tune of joy. The light of my eyes fully depends on Your breath infiltrating my soul by the Spirit of God. You are the strength of my life. Let me recognize and honor this moment-by-moment dependence on You. In each day, may I be constantly reminded of Your love. Teach me to seek and prioritize what is above, not what is right in front of me circumstantially. In the shadow of Your glory, let me put to death all that mars Your image in me, Lord. Sift the contents of my heart until all darkness and rebellious tendencies are exposed and dealt with. Let there be no room in my soul for anything but You as Your Spirit fights the battle to dethrone my personal idols. Only when I better reflect Your heart can I truly serve with the wonder of Your Spirit’s anointing. Help me get out of Your way so You can do Your best work in and through me, Lord Jesus. Under the blessed assurance of Colossians 3:5-7 and the authority of my Savior, I bow in prayer.

Put to death therefore your members which are on the earth: sexual immorality, uncleanness, depraved passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. For these things’ sake the wrath of God comes on the children of disobedience. You also once walked in those, when you lived in them; but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
