The presence of God in my life requires the absence of sin’s power. Let my eyes of faith rest on You and what You can do, Lord God. Make me the version of myself that You designed me to be. Free me from the entanglement of my own habits that continually separate me from You. I abhor such a version and repent in dust and ash. Make me holy by letting Your sacred fire consume the dross. You are the eternal flame that burns the iniquity while enflaming the Spirit with new life. Let me go forth in this battle while under Your command. I will fight against all in me that is unacceptable in Your sight. As I walk ever so slowly along the path of holy devotion, Your nearness will keep me from stumbling. Even if I trip, I know that the strength of Your grip will not let me fall. How sweet and resolute is Your pursuant love, God. How blessed am I to be the object of such love. May nothing lingering within me provide a barrier of separation that prevents me from experiencing the fullness of all You offer. Under the blessed truth of Your Word set down in John 1:16 and the authority of my Savior, I pray.
