Today’s Prayer

I herald You with supplication, Lord. My experience has shown me the unsolicited favor of my mighty King. The prelude of prayer ushers in great and remarkable mercy. Lord, let the thorn of my distresses be carefully plucked by Your divine fingers. In earnest intercession, I fall before You beneath the heavy burden of secrets I have kept from myself. My need for You is great, Lord. Thankfully, Your deliverance is far greater than my need. Assurance floats with answered prayer regardless of how it is responded to. Deliver me from my sore troubles or instruct me through them. Either way, bring me to Your side, reminding me to seek You in all things. Upon the horizon of my necessities, I see the soft flow of Your mercy, Lord. Prayer offers me such a glorious view. I walk in the shadow of blessing when I am near You whether my steps are in praise or in sorrow. Let Your light encompass me from behind and guide me from ahead. By Your Word, the dark clouds withdraw. By Your Word, the mighty mountain is but a hill. By Your Word, my soul is lifted to new heights. How sweet is the rendezvous which unravels my soul through the spiraling vapor of prayerful inquiry. Under the mercy of Your Word in 1 Kings 8:28-29 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Yet have respect for the prayer of Your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before You today; that Your eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which You have said, ‘My Name shall be there;’ to listen to the prayer which Your servant prays toward this place.”
1 Kings 8:28-29, WEB
