God, You are good. Like a golden sunrise after a stormy night of darkness, You bathe the landscape of my heart with goodness. There is not a work of Yours that does not display Your eminence. Lord God, suggest good thoughts to my mind. I am far too easily distracted by the corruption of my culture. Prompt me to good action. Though all around me look for expedience or justify the means by the end, let my soul’s motivation be to please You. Only Your Spirit can assist me in good attainment. Your Word reveals the goodness of truth in a world made bad by deception. Show me how to apply the tender goodness of Your promises. Truly, You are the author and sustainer of spiritual good. May Your redeemed inhabitants reflect the goodness and perfection of Your character. Lord, it is You who comforts the sorrowful. You instruct the disciple. You guide the sojourner. You sanctify the chosen. You intercede for the needy. I yield to Your good influence. Keep me living contentedly beneath Your power as the sun of Your goodness rises on the horizon of this life. Under the goodness of the Word set down in Matthew 7:17-18 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Even so, every good tree produces good fruit, but the corrupt tree produces evil fruit. A good tree can’t produce evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree produce good fruit.
