Today’s Prayer

Joyful is my countenance in Your presence, Lord. I am enabled to live above the heaviness of daily trials when abiding in Christ, my Savior. The troubles of this world do not thwart the victory assured in Christ. Forgiveness shines like the sharp edge of a mighty sword slicing through my iniquity and shame. In sickness, I learn You are my healer. In poverty, I rely on Your provision. When losses tempt me with grief, I recall that I have been given everything in my Savior. When burdens weigh me down, I cling to You because Your Spirit lifts me up. Let the world persecute those who belong to You, Jesus. Your love is my shield regardless of the flaming arrows lobbed in my direction. In all these things let me learn a new level of intimacy in faith. Because of all You have done for me, let me walk in steps of gratitude and kindness. Teach me what it means to be a living sacrifice. Do not allow my zeal to evaporate under the fog of hypocrisy so prevalent in places where worship should be authentic. Let Your love be an expressive token I can freely give. In You I am content, Lord Jesus. Under the beauty of the Word established in Philippians 4:12 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I come to the throne in prayer.


I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.
