Today’s Prayer

Prep my spirit for the day with immeasurable joy that only comes from being in Your presence, Lord God. Make my highest exercise that of prayer and praise. Lord, I seek You where You may be found. I worship You in the sanctuary of the heart. Let me go up to the house of the Lord with the assembly. My lips move with faithfulness in songs of old. Holy joy is Your gift of delight, Lord God. Your people partake of it when drawing near to Your presence. In sweet communion, let the saints taste and see that the You are good all the time. Even in our deaprtures, we do not carry the melancholy of goodbye because in the Lord there is promise of reunion. Lord, lead an army of hosts to fight the good fight of faith in a world where the battle grows so fierce it is almost frightening. But since we have You as our commander, we not not fear the war. The battle cry becomes a praiseworthy song of deliverance. Even in sickness, pain, or injury, You are victorious Jesus. From wherever I am, let me bring glory to Your Name. No longer am I burdened with the heaviness I once carried. In Christ, I have found rest for such burdens. My murmurs have been hushed by Your promises, God. My prayers are not made in vain. Because of You, I live outside the shadow of wrath, Jesus. You have given me every reason to praise always. Let all the Lord’s people be exultant, leading the world in joy. Under the blessing of Psalm 16:9-11 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
    my body also will rest secure,
because You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead,
    nor will You let your faithful one see decay.
You make known to me the path of life;
    You will fill me with joy in Your presence,
    with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Psalm 16:9-11, NIV
