Joy marks the horizon of one who pants after fellowship with the Son of God. A healthy heart rejoices in salvation. A fit spirit longs to rendezvous with the Lord. Perfect ease comes to the soul touched by grace and abiding in the peace offered by the Word. Let there not be distance from You in my life, Lord. Keep the wedge of distractions from worming their way into my prayers. In nearness to You, there is a fullness that is otherwise lacking. You are the serenity to chaos. You are the vigor to weakness. You are the abundance to lack. You are the life in the face of death. May the day not close without a million thoughts of You laid upon the altar of my mind. As the sun kisses a new day good morning, let my first waking thoughts be centered on praise. The promises of Your Word are like dew upon the flower of adversity. No matter my hunger, let me bring it to You, the One who freely gives of the bread of heaven. No longer shamed by iniquity because I have the garments of salvation woven by Christ’s thread of compassion, let me sing Your praises. Jesus, You are the rock on which I stand. In the supremacy of Your blessing, I continually adore You. Under the majesty of Your Word set down in Matthew 21:42 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
