Today’s Prayer

I see the King of Glory coming on the clouds with a wake of illumination in His stead. Who are You, Lord, that You would be willing to extend a chance to me? The manifest power of Your grace has allowed access by one Spirit to the Father. What am I that You are mindful of a lowly one like me? Blessed be Your holy ears for listening when I speak in reverent, prayerful requests. I know that I am only dust and chaff, Lord. Yet, You have deemed me worthy of Your salvation through faith in Your Son, my Christ. The richness of Your mercy covers my ragged soul like a thick blanket. Who have I in heaven besides You and who do I desire besides You? When my heart shatters and my strength falters, You are the mending of the pieces and the portion that sustains me. When all darkness swallows me up, it is only You that I seek. My soul thirsts for You. Let me hunger and thirst only for Your righteousness, Lord. You are the living God, the Savior of my soul. Because of all You have done, I can rest assured in the goodness of my inheritance. Blessed be the Name of the Lord. Under the protective canopy of truth set down in Psalm 16:5-6 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.

The Lord is my chosen portion and my cup;
    You hold my lot.
The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
    indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance.
Psalm 16:5-6, ESV
