I dedicate myself to Your glory, Lord. I relinquish my heart to Your will, not my selfish pleasure. Keep me from going my own way when Yours is the only way to life. Ceasing from habitual indulgence is a challenge only You can equip me for. Mindful of my daily calling, turn me away from that which would ensnare me, Lord. There is no temptation circling me which has more power than You do. Reveal the means of escape so that I can turn my back on all things worldly. Even the clouds of adversity and struggle do not block my prayers from reaching heaven’s throne. Let Your Word of grace descend completely into my heart, forming roots which anchor me in the sustenance of Your living water. Through Your myriad blessings, I find the sweetest rest. Your voice invites. Your Word soothes. Your presence comforts me. Your wisdom guides. Following You means I need not fear taking a wrong turn. Fire my soul with a foretaste of heaven’s delights. Let me glimpse eternity on the horizon of this life path. Truly, Lord, Your staff is my anchor and my beacon. Hold Your hand over mine so that I never let go or get pulled away. Under the beauty of the Word in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.

 But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.
