Today’s Prayer

Bowing my soul in the humility of my obscurity, I come before the throne of the high and mighty King. With passionate gratitude for the salvation offered to my wretched soul, I place prayers upon the altar. Your love, God, unravels the mess of my faulty wiring. Your sovereignty assures me that even my mistakes can be made right. What else could my heart desire except to sit at Your feet and absorb Your teaching? My portion and my peace are in You alone. Freely, I give my heart to You though it cost You so much to procure its freedom. Mold my soul, Lord. Take every jagged edge and smooth it with compassion. Though I blindly followed the way that would result in my own demise, Your intervention thwarted the destiny of one about to perish. I choose Your way over mine. Let Your will be done. By Your mercy, I do not receive what is due to me. By Your grace, I have been given so much more. By the value and the virtue of Your sacrifice, let me live knowing I am loved by the King. Under the blessed assurance of the Word in Psalm 36:6-8, NIV and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
    Your justice like the great deep.
    You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.
How priceless is Your unfailing love, O God!
    People take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They feast on the abundance of Your house;
    You give them drink from Your river of delights.
Psalm 36:6-8, NIV
