Today’s Prayer

The demands of Your will are a yoke of light burden no matter what the enemy tries to convince me otherwise. Great God Almighty, I submit to Your sovereignty. There is no other like You. Let nothing occupy the throne of my heart except Your Holy Spirit. Your glory is full of fruit and Your bounty is grace. All that I have is what You have given. Though my soul is but a penny and my body a single cent compared to the riches of Your inheritance, nevertheless I cast them into the heavenly treasury to do with as You will. Resigning myself to You, I pull my resources and trust Your provision. Govern my every step, Lord. Sign Your Name on my heart. Only You can write the story I am meant to live. Though I desire to turn the pages faster than Your will dictates, I trust that the unfolding of events, whether good or undesirable, in my life have been sifted through Your hands. When I cannot see the how and why, let me remember that You know how the plot of my life weaves in and out of the grand narrative of Your story. I need not fear a disastrous ending with You as author and perfector of faith. With You, every ending is a new beginning. The old is replaced by the refashioned in grace. Contentment is the mark that embosses the cover of this legacy. Thank You for making me Your own. Under the grace of the Word in Romans 12:2 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—His good, pleasing and perfect will.
Romans 12:2, NIV
