Today’s Prayer

My joy finds its source in You, Lord God. No matter what happens to me, I know I am secure in Christ’s love. Wrap Your righteousness around my wretched heart. Only Your Spirit can prevail in me. Only Your mighty hand can deliver me from temptation and the subtle snare of the evil one. May I not take for granted the ransom that You paid for my soul’s redemption. My heart overflows with admiration that is holy unto You, Lord. I am grateful for Your salvation. Give me a heart that is not divided. Fill me with life that is pure and undefiled so that my hope in You is exalted above the adversity of living. Out of Your Word comes a glorious mystery. The Word made flesh has dwelt among us. How I bless You for the pardon of my sin. I exalt You for Your glorious plan of redemption. I thank You for the enormity of Your grace. Preserve me from the mistakes I am prone to make, Lord. Draw me into the realm of repentant confession that keeps me on a holy path to Your presence. When the clouds of despair mar my view of eternal horizons, Your Spirit illuminates that which my eyes cannot see. Truly, my source of joy is You, Lord Jesus. Under the blessing of the Word in Psalm 27:4-5 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

One thing have I asked of the Lord,
    that will I seek after:
that I may dwell in the house of the Lord
    all the days of my life,
to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord
    and to inquire in His temple.
For He will hide me in His shelter
    in the day of trouble;
He will conceal me under the cover of His tent;
    He will lift me high upon a rock.
Psalm 27:4-5, ESV
