Today’s Prayer

Let the source of my soul’s gladness only be found in You, my Lord and Savior. Pull me to the well of salvation so that I can become better acquainted with the spring of living water that never runs dry. God, You are my exceeding joy. Your sovereignty is my solace in a chaotic world. My heart finds refuge in the knowledge that You are on the throne. Your attributes are the lovely filter through which I look to find the ultimate source of my peace. Your wisdom is unmatched. Your grace is unfathomable. Despite my foolishness, You impart knowledge wrapped in the truth of Your Word. To unwrap such a gift is to find wisdom. Your power fills my soul with awe as I bow before Your majesty. It causes me to tremble at my own weakness. You are everlasting. Though I wither like unwatered grass in my physical being, I rejoice to know that my spirit belongs entirely to You. Let me yield a song to Your unchanging nature. Let me overflow with gratitude because of Your mercy. I look only to You for sanctification. The joy imparted by Your presence runs as deep as a river in spring. Draw me to the edge of such waters, Lord, and remind me to drink when I become distracted by other things. There is nothing sweeter than the heavenly stream of redeeming love that flows between You and those called by Your Name. Keep me in the protective embrace of such gladness. I look to no other source besides You. Under the majestic power of the Word in Isaiah 45:5-6 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

I am the Lord, and there is no other;
    apart from Me there is no God.
I will strengthen you,
    though you have not acknowledged Me,
so that from the rising of the sun
    to the place of its setting
people may know there is none besides Me.
    I am the Lord, and there is no other.
Isaiah 45:5-6, NIV
