Jesus, thank You for the peace that surpasses understanding. A peace that is uniquely Yours to give and not of this world. Because of the cross, You have justified me in a way I could never have achieved on my own. Though I look back on my sins of the past and feel the piercing sorrow of them, Your love grants me the peace that vanquishes the dread of judgement. Your work, Jesus, is the divine receipt that proves the payment for my debt. My soul is at rest because You claim it as Your own. My nature is continually enlightened by Your Word. My heart is constantly challenged to grow in its understanding and ability to apply Your divine teaching. What once brought me terror does so no more because You are my advocate and intercessor, Jesus. How marvelous is Your grace. How all-encompassing is Your mercy. You have taken my place and stood where I should have to receive the full wrath of God. Thank You for granting me the peace that shields me from the lashes of the Law that I have broken. My soul shouts in humble echoes to Your triumph, Jesus. My hope lives in You. My peace is Your ultimate gift. Let me not squander it as I live to bring glory to the One who saved me. Under the blessing of Your Word in John 14:27 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.
