What sorrow befuddles the heart that is constantly tempted. How grievous are the sins that are common to man? Praise God for the hope given us in Jesus. When the room is dark, there is a light flowing from the trail of the One who goes before me. While waging a relentless fight with my enemy, I am shielded by the One who battles him on my behalf. Because of what You have done, Jesus, my heart is filled with good cheer. My soul bows in gratitude toward the One who bears the load so that I do not have to go it alone. Let me follow the blood-stained footsteps of the King in His glory. The road might be long but it has a glorious destination. My soul endures the temptations that feel overwhelming. God has provided a way of escape. Be encouraged in the triumph of the Lord Jesus, oh my soul, who leads His followers to victory. Let us bring You glory, Lord, because You have overcome the world and its temptations. Under the magnitude of blessing in the Word of John 16:33 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.
