Today’s Prayer

Keep me disinclined to give credence to false thoughts, Lord. The anchor of truth found in Your Word is the only thing to steady me in the storm of life. It is Your holy presence that anoints my actions with meaning. When I am in perilous predicaments, let me turn my eyes to You for rescue rather than trusting in a plan of my own making. Truly, You have exposed me to many trials so that I can have my faith refined. Forgive me for the nearsightedness that keeps me from recognizing the opportunities to learn. You place before me the hardest of circumstances for such a purpose. Let me be one who seeks refinement more than relief from trouble. I know through experience that You always ordain a way of escape. The very tenor of my life is a song of praise to Your heart. On humbled knees, I thank You for Your defense, Lord. There has never been a reason to doubt Your goodness or the relentlessness of Your marvelous intervention. Continue to shine the star of love amid the blackness of worldly conflicts. Move Your light through me in both Word and deed, Lord. Incline me to carry out Your sovereign will. Under the canopy of the Word in Philippians 4:8 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:8, ESV
