Today’s Prayer

When I was oppressed, Lord, You offered me the stronghold of Your Word. When selfishness overwhelmed me, Your gentle fingers lifted the veil of my blindness. Let the ghosts of iniquity no longer haunt me. I have salvation in You, Lord Jesus. I have put my trust in You, my Lord and King. I have placed my heart in Your hands, my Savior. As broken as my soul was, You accepted it, anyway. Your graciousness astounds me. You did not forget the cry of Your afflicted. You hear even the soul’s most ardent whispers. Lift up the gates of death, Lord. Guide Your beloved to Zion. Your salvation is the only path to follow. No more will I sink into the pits I have made. Your guidance steers me around all treacherous trappings. Make Yourself known to me, Lord God, in every moment that I live. Under the blessed manifestation of Your Word in Psalm 25:10-11 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.

All the ways of the Lord are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of His covenant.
For the sake of Your Name, Lord,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Psalm 25:10-11, NIV
