Lord God Almighty, whom my heart and soul adore, strengthen me to care for the temple which houses Your Holy Spirit. Lay Your tender hands upon this body of mine so that Your power is made perfect in my weakness. When I am ailing, Lord God, shield me from the pain which distracts me from unhindered worship. When I am sick, let me become aware of Your method for healing. Jesus, hold me ever so sweetly in restful serenity during times of physical challenge so that my sleep is rejuvenating and my body does not become a stumbling block of misplaced priority. Empower me to release the build up of anxiety over tasks I am unable to complete so that my body remains relaxed in order that Your Spirit can lead the way. I cry out from the depths of my pain, Lord God, that You would let me experience the full force of Your love as I keep my mind focused on You, my heart centered on You, and my soul clinging to Your presence. In the grace of Your loving power, I will submit this body to You as Your temple, as Your place of residence to complete that which You have begun in me. Under the powerful healing word of Isaiah 57:15 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I set these prayers upon Your holy altar, O God.

For the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity,
    whose name is Holy, says:
“I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also who is of a contrite and humble spirit,
    to revive the spirit of the humble,
    and to revive the heart of the contrite.
