Father in heaven who knows Your loved one by my true name, let Your Holy Spirit engulf the vacant recesses of my heart with Your glorious, incorruptible love. Mighty God, with Your strong arm, be the defender of my cause, my refuge in the storm, the lifter of my soul. Gratitude floods my spirit as I turn from the darkness of life’s confusing situations to embrace Your light. Create in me a pure heart, Lord, as You equip me to cast all of my anxieties on You. I beseech You for relief, O Lord. I welcome Your renewal. I enjoy Your sweet replenishment as I accept Your refinement of the soul. May the Name of Jesus be glorified in suffering, magnified in pain, lifted high in thanksgiving and praised in splendid hope. Reveal to me, O God, the unchangeable character of Your purpose in a purposeless world that is ever changing. Let me be anchored to the promises of Christ as revealed to me in Your Word. Under the promise of Hebrews 6:17-20 and the authority of Christ Jesus, keeper of my heart, lover of my soul, I lift these prayers toward heaven filled with awe that You hear the quiet desperation of my soul, O God.
In this way God, being determined to show more abundantly to the heirs of the promise the immutability of His counsel, interposed with an oath, that by two immutable things, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong encouragement, who have fled for refuge to take hold of the hope set before us. This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and entering into that which is within the veil; where as a forerunner Jesus entered for us, having become a high priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.
