God, Creator and Sustainer of my life, pull Your beloved child into Your deep counsel. Confusion threatens to undermine my faith as I look at the world around me. Grace me, Lord God, with peace that passes understanding as I let the story of my life unfold according to Your perfect will. Remind me that I do not need to have the big picture as long as I am submissive to You, who does. Mold me in ways that will ultimately help You carry out Your plan. Shape me in refinement so that I better reflect the glorious truth of Your Son in a world saturated with lies. Reassure me of my identity in You -that I am a treasured child of God who has a plan and a purpose ordained by Your hands before time began. Where I am weak, You are my strength, O God. Where I am blinded, Lord, help me to see. In all things, Jesus, bring me close so that I know the intimate sound of Your voice, my Shepherd. I wish not to make companionship with confusion. Neither do I want to let despair hold me captive. Instruct me with sweet words of wisdom, Lord, so that I can put the next foot forward in devotion to You. Under the wisdom of John 10:1-6 and the authority of Christ Jesus in whom all mystery is known, these prayers are lifted on high by the sheep of Your pasture.
“Most certainly, I tell you, one who doesn’t enter by the door into the sheep fold, but climbs up some other way, is a thief and a robber. But one who enters in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. The gatekeeper opens the gate for him, and the sheep listen to his voice. He calls his own sheep by name, and leads them out. Whenever he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice. They will by no means follow a stranger, but will flee from him; for they don’t know the voice of strangers.” Jesus spoke this parable to them, but they didn’t understand what he was telling them.
