God of all light and goodness, I seek You from the depths of a troubled spirit. Lord, let Your living water flood the parched soil of my heart with grace and truth. Build me up in strength to fight the battle You have called me to. Replenish my soul when I run dry as only You can do, Lord. May the cleansing waters of grace wash over my tainted soul, removing the dirt left by selfish desire and lifting the stains of rebellion which have brought me to the valley of shame. Your mighty work on the cross has set my soul free from bondage to the enemy. You have brought me out into the light of the valley of salvation. In Christ, I am washed, redeemed, and forgiven. Let the attacks of the enemy not blind me to the truth of who I really am. I need not fear my troubled spirit for You have granted me a Spirit of love, power and the control of self. Under the Word of the gospel in 2 Timothy 1:7 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I set these prayers before You, O God.

For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control.
