My Father in heaven, testify to my soul that I am Your child. Deafen my ears to the misleading labels the enemy tries to place on me. Remind me when I forget, that I am who You say I am. For You have redeemed me, chosen me, made me and shaped me. Invite me to live in the power of resurrection so that I can fully embrace the inheritance of incorruptible love which You have given me in Christ Jesus. I delight to be Your heir, Lord. I rejoice that I am the object of Your love. Let me worship You in the ordinary and praise You in the extraordinary. Let me sing to You in the night seasons and dance for You in the light. Let me fix my gaze on You when the clouds of difficulty roll in and let me never be distracted by alluring lies. You are my One and Only, Jesus. You are my sustenance. Define me now as You shape my life with loving hands. Under the Word of truth in Romans 8:16-17 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children.
Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ,
if indeed we share in His sufferings in order
that we may also share in His glory.
