Love me, Lord of my heart. The springs of my soul have dried up because of my wandering tendencies. Take me out of my lost-ness as You reveal to me the way home. Show me how to come back to the place You have been waiting for me. I delight in Your forgiveness. I rejoice in Your grace. Incline Your ear to my plea, O Lord. I am desperate for You. Turn Your heart in my direction, Father, for I am too weak to carry on without You. Let me no longer go my own way. Let me no longer pursue that which is not of You. Though the holes inside of me desire to be filled, there is nothing that can mend the broken cistern except Your presence. So, I seek You with my whole heart. I diligently bow before You, aware of my iniquity, ashamed of my fleshly desire. Envelop me in gracious love, Lord. I delight to be Your child who has returned home never to stray again. Under the Word in Luke 15:21-24 and the authority of Christ, to whom I belong, I lay these prayers at Your feet.
And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and before you.
I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ But the father said to his servants,‘Bring quickly the best robe, and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet. And bring the fattened calf and kill it, and let us eat and celebrate. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.
