Lord, let the characteristics of my renewed soul through faith in Christ be evident in the life given me, no matter how short or long. Father, I thirst deeply with a parched heart for Your righteousness. I mourn the consistent evidence of my inclination to separate myself from You. Let me be a true child of Your Kingdom by virtue of Your indwelling Holy Spirit. Empower me to show mercy to those that revile me. In Your meekness, I can do what is impossible by human means. May my weary eyes gaze upon You, unveiled by defiling filters coming from this world. Keep me pure, Jesus, as only You can. Lift me up from beneath the stones of those who persecute me so that I may be a witness to Your grace. Teach me the power of modest giving where things done in secret achieve heavenly riches by bringing glory to Your heart. Bring me through adversity caused by others until I can dwell safely in the field of forgiveness. From the depths of my heart, Lord, I serve You in secret, not seeking the accolades of people, but rejoicing in the pleasure of Your delight. Grant my heart the ability to wait in patience for the rewarded inheritance of being ushered into Your Kingdom upon the mighty arm of my Savior. God, I freely surrender all earthly goods for ministry to You. There is nothing this world can offer me which can compete with the all-satisfying everything which I have gained in Christ. Under the Word and authority of Jesus in Matthew 6:19-21, I pray.
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth,
where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal,
but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven,
where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves
do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is,
there your heart will be also.”
