Lord God, help me in this very short time which I have here on earth to prepare for the everlasting time of eternity. In this hour of my life in the flesh, shape my soul for Kingdom worthiness. Jesus, there is so much work to be done within me. I look to You, my teacher and the shaper of my being. Do not let my soul grow lethargic in regard to the pursuit of heaven. Let my heart not become stagnant through the distraction presented by the culture that surrounds me. Keep me ever growing toward You like a plant reaching for the sun. Root me in the truth. Nourish the soil of my heart with grace and love. Make me a devoted follower who is open to learning what You reveal to me. Through trial or blessing, suffering or joy, adversity or accolades, teach me whatever my soul needs to know so that I can be Your readied servant, eager to leave this temporary life for the everlasting place You have marked out for me in Your Kingdom. Under the beauty of Your promise in John 14:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I delightfully pray.
Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in Me.
My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so,
would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?
And if I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come back and take you to be with Me
that you also may be where I am.
