Today’s Prayer

O my Lord, let me value with great adoration the righteousness imparted to me through Your work on the cross. Let me never take for granted the power of grace as it covers the nakedness of my iniquity. Let me not become hindered by selfish desires when I can be constrained in Christ’s love. Your boundaries for me are perfection, Lord. Your guidance beyond compare. Though the distresses of life often afflict me, may my countenance exude joy more than sorrow. Though the circumstances of my day often confuses me, let my heart lean into trust instead of worry. Remind me when I forget that all has been done because You declared it finished on the cross. Remind me when I forget that I am who You declare me to be, not who I feel I am in the moment. Let my soul rejoice with unspeakable gratitude for the salvation granted by divine love. Use the way I live unto You, Lord, as a testimony to Your beauty even more powerfully than any words I speak. You have declared me ‘enough’ because You are bringing me to completion in Christ. Under the mighty Word of John 19:28-30 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

After this, Jesus, knowing that all was now finished,
said (to fulfill the Scripture), “I thirst.”

A jar full of sour wine stood there,
so they put a sponge full of the sour wine on a hyssop branch
and held it to His mouth.
When Jesus had received the sour wine,
He said, “It is finished,” and He bowed his head and gave up his spirit.
John 19:28-30, ESV
