Prepare my heart in the sweetness of prayer, my Lord, to hear Your voice in its intimacy. Tune my spirit within to respond to the whispers of love echoing from the cross. Purge the noisy chaos of life’s distractions so that my focus is fixed upon You, my God and King. For the communion that we share is merely a reflection of the inheritance You have blessed upon me in Christ Jesus. The beauty of the mercy of Your providence captivates my soul. The greatness of truth as revealed in Your Word is a refuge for the thoughts swirling in my mind. Set Your faithful seal upon my heart, Jesus, for it is Yours to claim. May every moment of my days be spent in silent fellowship with You that draws my heart to respond to the secret communion I share with the Creator of my being. Open me to Your Spirit, God Almighty, because Your voice alone sustains me in joy. Under the Word of truth revealed in Matthew 17:5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I humbly pray to the Lord of all.
