My Father in heaven, grant me a faith that delights Your heart. Lift the sad inclinations of my flesh so that I abide in the joy of Christ. Help me to gain a heavenly perspective on earthly woes. What this world considers loss is truly great gain in Christ. Incline my heart to choose the path of faith so that my soul can anticipate good from the calamities of life. When it feels as if all circumstances plot against me, let me turn to feel Your strength at my back and Your hand holding me steady against the tide of adversity. Help me, Lord, to extract the hidden gem within the cave of distress because with Your light I can search for treasures in the darkness. When prosperity diminishes and the tide of favor pulls away from me, may my soul kneel in praise and wonder until Your mercies are revealed within the sands on the shore of hope. For when death itself appears, I will not be afraid because I know the One who leads me across the chasm to my home where there will be no more night as I dwell in the glory of the King forever more. Under the Word of truth in Isaiah 45:3 and the authority of Christ, I pray with a devoted heart.

and hidden wealth of secret places,
